Seamus Cornelius - Allens Partner
Seamus presented a segment on Foreign investment in exploration and mining in China at the Asia Mining Congress, 26-30 March 2007.

Allens Arthur Robinson was a Silver sponsor of the 3rd Annual Asia Mining Congress, held in Singapore from 26-30 March 2007.

The congress is Asia's biggest mining industry event, bringing together senior regional regulators, top mining companies and international investors.

Three Allens Partners were involved in this year's congress. Seamus Cornelius (Partner, Allens China) (view CV) presented a segment on Foreign investment in exploration and mining in China and Gavin MacLaren (Partner, Allens Singapore) (view CV) took part in a panel discussion on the topic of Evaluating Asia's rapidly changing mining investment landscape and managing investment risks.

Steve Pemberton (Partner, Allens Singapore) (view CV), along with Seamus and Gavin, held a post-conference master class on 30 March on the Legal aspects of mining transactions. This master class provided participants with practical information in negotiating and implementing mining transactions and agreements in Asia. Our Allens Partners discussed the project risks involved and examined some of the mitigation strategies available, providing case studies of recent transactions.
